In 2020 we adopted our Golden Shepherd, Walter. From day one we couldn’t stop telling him how handsome he was. Despite, we couldn’t help but worry about his extra fluffy 130lb physique and challenges with mild exercise like going up and down stairs. He was 50 pounds overweight, sluggish, anxious and battling the effects of years on processed kibble.

When we made the simple but powerful shift to feeding him the way nature intended, with raw unprocessed nutrition, he came back to life. His weight began to drop. His eyes brightened. His skin healed and his coat softened. He moved with ease, digested his food smoothly, and his nervous energy began to settle. He was a completely different dog in the healthiest and happiest ways.

We shared Walter’s journey with friends and family, many of whom started feeding raw with amazing results of their own. But over and over, we heard the same concern: the cost. And that’s how Rustic Mutt was born… From a commitment to Walter’s second chance and a desire to make real, raw nutrition accessible to more dogs and the people who love them. 

What started as a personal journey became our mission: to bring raw dog food to everyday families, without sacrificing quality or affordability.
